Intern Intro: Valarie

Hello Everyone,

My name is Valarie Randle. I’m from Charleston, MO and I’m currently a college senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Social Work at Murray State University.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, working out, spending time with my dog, and hanging out with friends. A few hobbies of mine are poetry, listening to spoken word, and I love to sing. Singing is very big in my family so we all enjoy singing and even singing together. Also, I love to travel and sightsee, going to another country is on my bucket list to accomplish.

This winter I am interning at the Missouri Bootheel Regional Consortium Inc. as a case management intern.

I decided to do my internship with this agency because I found them online and after doing all my research I can say that I loved the purpose of the agency and all the programs and opportunities they offer people in the community. I enjoy working with youth and families so being able to work with mothers, babies, and even older children as well are a plus of choosing this internship. Case management will be my first stage startup of actually getting some practice in the social work field.

I plan to utilize my time here by not only doing case management but taking on different roles of different programs as well. I will be hands-on with different projects and even do one of my own that I’m looking forward to.

I am excited for all I will gain being an MBRC intern. I believe this internship will give me the hands-on experience, skills, and knowledge I will need to make an impact in the future for my career.
