Healthy Start Community Health Worker
This position supports the recruitment and enrollment of Healthy Start prenatal clients.
Recruit volunteers for the Healthy Start Community Action Network (CAN).
Provide education by increasing perinatal health knowledge through a range of activities such as outreach, community education, and social support. Participates in partnership with other MBRC programs and serves as liaison with various community partnerships involving Maternal and Child health programs.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and community-driven with a positive attitude and to be a team player. Enjoys working with families, community outreach, and the ability to effectively work with a team and independently. Experience working with HIPPA compliance.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. An associate degree or some college in a related field is preferred but not required. 1 + years of experience working in community outreach preferred. Experience working with volunteers or mentorship, community resources, family advocacy, and health education. Experience may be considered in place of education. Interpersonal and public speaking, meeting facilitation skills. Organization, time management, Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) skills preferred. Social Media and Virtual meeting experiences are a plus. Requires travel in the program region, reliable transportation with insurance, and a valid driver’s license as a condition of employment. Company vehicles are available to support transportation.
